4 EFFECTS OF SMARTPHONE YOU MAY NOT KNOW

The world is advancing so the use of smartphones have become rampant in this world. While some use their phones for communication, others use theirs for research purposes. Some use their smartphones to play games, listen to musics, watching videos and etc. Since smartphones have several benefits, people use them for long hours. One can speak on phone for about 1- 3 hours without considering the effects it may have on our body systems. Here are 4 adverse conditions one is likely to suffer for using  smartphones for long period of hours.
1. HIGH RISK OF BRAIN CANCER (TUMOUR)

Brain tumor risk increases with more years of cell phone use. A research was conducted to prove that effects of cell phone radiation are cumulative with more hours to use. Those with the most usage had a 300 %  increase in having a brain tumour on the same side as a cell phone was most used.
2. INCREASE RISK OF ILLNESS
The incessant touching of your phone can harbour germs on your handset. The greasy, oily residue you may see on your cell phone after a day's use can contain more disease. Bacteria can be contained on the cell phone, on our hands. Contagious diseases can be spread through different people contacting a cell phone with the bacteria on them.
3. MOBILE PHONES DAMAGES THE TYMPANIC MEMBRANE (EAR DRUM)
Many studies have shown effects of mobile phone on hearing. Using mobile phones for more than 30 minutes a day can change the hearing threshold. The minimum level of sound that is audible to a person is the hearing threshold for that person. The hearing threshold shift is more so in higher frequencies. The main reason for the hearing loss is the exposure of the ear to the electromagnetic field emitted by mobile telephones. The heat emitted by the mobile phone further adds to the damage.
4. IT AFFECTS VISION (EYE STRAIN)
Screens (smartphones and electronic devices) can cause many uncomfortable eye- related symptoms such as eye strain, dry eyes, headache, fatigue, difficulty focusing, blurred vision and shoulder and neck pain.
I am not saying you are not supposed to use smartphones. But the fact that you use a smartphone, you are likely to have any of these effects, but you can prevent yourself or decrease your chances of getting these conditions by limiting the time you spend with your phone.
